Exporting references from Zotero to a Word document is facilitated by the integration of Zotero's citation tools with Microsoft Word. This process is entirely feasible using the dedicated Zotero plugin for Word. The essential prerequisites involve installing both Zotero Standalone and the corresponding Zotero Word plugin. After installation, the plugin creates a specialized "Zotero" tab within Microsoft Word's ribbon interface. When writing, users employ the "Add/Edit Citation" button to insert references from their Zotero library into the Word document text. Citations are managed dynamically through this plugin. Finally, the "Add/Edit Bibliography" button generates a fully formatted bibliography at the document's end, adhering to the selected citation style. To execute this, open the target Word document and navigate to the Zotero tab. Place the cursor where a citation is needed, select "Add/Edit Citation," and choose the relevant source from the Zotero library search window. Repeat this process for each citation required. After inserting all citations, position the cursor where the bibliography should appear and select "Add/Edit Bibliography." Zotero will automatically generate and insert the bibliography formatted according to your pre-selected citation style. Save the Word document once the references are correctly inserted.
